At the USS Ticonderoga monthly meeting on June 13th it was announced that a scheduling conflict had come up with the upcoming auction date. It was decided by the Command and Crew to move the Ticonderoga auction to Saturday, July 21st. It will still be at the home of the Executive Officer, Dave Stock and it will still be at the same time. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

USS Ticonderoga meeting and auction information
The month of June brings about the USS Ticonderoga meeting and official monthly activity. The meeting will be at the standard date/time/location of the second Wednesday of the month (June 13th) at the Weber County Library main branch (25th and Jefferson in Ogden) at 7:00pm (look for us in the basement meeting rooms). If you have donations for the USS Ticonderoga auction, please bring them to the meeting so we can get them organized.
As you can probably guess, the USS Ticonderoga auction will be our official monthly activity for June. The auction will take place on Saturday, June 16th at 2:00pm. It will be held at the home of the Executive Officer, Dave Stock. The address is 1190 West 1700 South in Syracuse. There will be several members from the Seventh Fleet in attendance. Please bring friends and chairs and enjoy our company in the backyard. There will be a Taco Bar for dinner ($3.00/person or $10.00/family). Checks and cash will be accepted. The USS Ticonderoga charges no dues to join our Star Trek fan club (it already costs too much to be a Star Trek fan). This is the same policy with our parent organization, the Seventh Fleet. There are no dues to join our Star Trek family. We use this fundraiser to cover basic operational costs (website, printing, awards, supplies, etc.) and keep the club dues free. If you can help out, we would greatly appreciate it. As you can see from our picture, apparently Garak outbid Quark on one of the items, will you be outbid?
April USS Ticonderoga Activity: BBQ/ADVOT night
The USS Ticonderoga will be holding a BBQ and ADVOT night for it’s April activity. This will be held on Saturday the 21st at 5:00pm at the home of Captain Stark in Clearfield.
The BBQ is BYOM (bring your own meat) and a dish to share. The activity is also set up to help Ticonderoga crewmembers pass off various ADVOTs (merit sheets) needed for rank advancements. We will have copies of sheets available, study materials to look up answers (books, internet, episodes, etc.) and Admiral Stark has volunteered to sign off on the ADVOTs that you want to pass. At past events like this, several ADVOTs can be done in one night. If you haven’t had a chance to find out how easy this portion of the rank system really is in the Seventh Fleet, this is a chance to find out and have some fun with your friends.

USS Ticonderoga February activity: 10th Anniversary Olympic Sport Festival
Our next USS Ticonderoga activity will be coming up on Saturday, February 18th. The crew voted to take the UTA Frontrunner down to Salt Lake City and attend the 10th Anniversary Olympic Sport Festival. This will be held at the Gateway Shopping Center and is free to the public. Wear your club or Star Trek t-shirts.
Ridding Frontrunner/TRAX:
The train will LEAVE the stations at the following times. Ogden- 1:16pm, Roy- 1:22pm, Clearfield- 1:31pm, Layton- 1:36pm. We will then arrive at the Salt Lake Station at 2:07pm. We will then hop on the next TRAX leaving the Salt Lake Station and should be at the Gateway in a matter of minutes. UTA offers a group pass for 4 people (roundtrip) for $13.50. This would be about $3.40 per person. By comparison a single round trip ticket would run between $8-9 per person so make arrangements with your fellow USS Ticonderoga members to maximize savings.
At the Festival:
We may be joined by some members of the Salt Lake chapters at this event. We plan to walk around and take in the sights at the festival. Depending upon time and events, we may also hit up the Clark Planetarium (which is also located in the Gateway). The festival itself ends at 6:00pm. We are planning to eat in the Gateway’s food court (think standard mall food court for selection and prices) for dinner. Afterwards we will hop on TRAX & Frontrunner to return home.
Seventh Fleet Admiral’s Banquet information
And now a word from Captain Erica Stark:
The 2012 Seventh Fleet Admiral’s Banquet will be held on Saturday, January 28th in Richmond, Utah. This is a potluck banquet. Here is how the food, etc., will be handled.
There are 6 categories of items to bring, and 15 slots for each item, fleet-wide. The slots are first come, first served, so I need for you to choose your top 3 items. Commodore Henline will slot your name into an available slot/item, and I will pass the information back to you. Please only sign up if you will be attending. You can email your selections back to me.
Below are the categories:
1 – Main Dish – must be soup, stew or chili. 12 servings’ worth only, please.
2 – Salads – green, jello, potato, macaroni, etc. 12 servings’ worth only, please.
3 – Bread – rolls, etc. 12 servings’ worth only, please.
4 – Desserts – any. 12 servings’ worth only, please.
5 – Drinks – any. 12 servings’ worth only, please.
6 – Dishes – plates, bowls, utensils, cups, napkins. Enough of any one item for 12 people.
I can tell you that the main dish slots were filling up quickly at the fleet council meeting. Also, the given items are one per family/couple/individual. If you attend by yourself, you are responsible for 1 item. A couple is responsible for 1 item. A family is responsible for 1 item.
Remember that the dress code for the banquet is uniforms or best possible dress.
Please let me know your selections ASAP.
Also, if any of you have pictures of any 2011 ship activities, please send a copy to me. Each ship is again responsible for a 5-minute video report, and I need to have it ready to go by January 26th.
Thanks, all!
January monthly meeting – planning our 2012 events
So it is time for the regular USS Ticonderoga monthly meeting to be held on Wednesday, January 11th. As per usual this will be at 7:00pm at the Weber County Library meeting rooms on 25th and Jefferson. Unlike other meetings, this meeting is a huge one for the crew. This may be the last chance to order a Seventh Fleet Calendar on it’s final run ($10 a calendar). Captain Erica Stark will have the latest information from the Seventh Fleet Council Meeting. But most important, this will be the meeting that the club as a whole gets to plan out all of our events that we want to hold for 2012. We will be talking about fleet banquets, fleet games, conventions (CONduit, Starfest and Star Trek Las Vegas) and more.
Bring your friends, bring your ideas and lets set a course into 2012.
Food assignments for New Years Eve party
Once again it is time for the annual USS Ticonderoga New Years Eve party. This year we are returning to the breakfast theme for our meal. The meat, eggs and utensils will be provided by other volunteers. We are using the last name to fill out the following food assignments.

Last name starts with F-J: Please bring syrup, butter, jellies and condiments.
Last name starts with K-O: Please bring Fruit, coco or soda.

Happy Thanksgiving and November Activity
Greetings Everyone. From the many members of the USS Ticonderoga, we would like to wish you and your family a safe and happy Thanksgiving Day. We hope that you have the opportunity to get together with family and express all of the things that you are thankful for. Lets also give out our thoughts and prayers to those who could not be at home with family on this important holiday.
On Saturday, November 26th is the USS Ticonderoga monthly activity. Members of the shuttle White Buffalo from Tooele are coming up with their Star Trek simulator that is run on multiple computers. Various people can take up different bridge positions seen on the show as we run through various combat scenarios. This will be shown off at the home of Dave Stock in Syracuse (on Antelope Drive). This will start at 6:00pm and run until ???? If you want to work off some frustrations from the holiday weekend and fighting the zombie mobs on Black Friday, this is the place to be.
Ticonderoga Activity: USS Kelly 25th Anniversary Party
As many of you know, the USS Kelly was the mothership that launched the chapter-in-training that eventually became the USS Ticonderoga. September 2011 is the 25th Anniversary of the USS Kelly as a Star Trek fan club. The USS Kelly has been promoting Star Trek and the values that we try to live up to since 1986. And they have been doing this without charging any dues during the club’s entire run. They have no plans to charge dues in the future as well.
The USS Ticonderoga crew wanted to celebrate with our Star Trek family by making the 25th Anniversary party the official monthly activity. Here is the invitation from the USS Kelly.
Get Ready to come in your Birthday suit
No, not that one, you silly-dilly. Starfleet regulations for modesty still apply. The grand lady known as the USS Kelly has had a birthday, and it’s a big one. Unlike some women who are shy about revealing the number, she’s proud of her age and has earned every one of her years. As of September 1st, the USS Kelly turned 25. That’s right, 25 years. A quarter of a century. Two and a half decades. The big 2-5…
This, my friends, most definitely calls for a party.
What: USS Kelly 25th anniversary party
Where: Captain Thalmann’s inlaw’s house
4170 Long Valley Road (about 6100 W) West Valley City, UT
When: Saturday, Septmber 24th– yes, that’s THIS SATURDAY folks
Time: 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Tentative schedule of activities includes:
2:00 p.m. Meet/Mingle and ‘Polynesian’ Style
4:00 p.m. Stuff ourselves silly/eat during Ship business and entertainment
5:00 P.M. end of activity/cleanup begins (easy service points, anyone?)
**Please Note**
This event will have a Hawaiian-Luau theme, and all who attend are encouraged to dress appropriately. Mark the date on your calendars, save the date, and start collecting party favors. This party is going to be one for the record books.
